Privacy, terms, and how to reach us. Plain English up top, the longer text below. We don't sell your data, we don't run third-party trackers, and you can leave anytime.

§01

Privacy.

The short version

We collect your email and first name when you sign the Roster, your billing info if you become a Post member, and that's it. We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party trackers. You can ask us to delete everything we have on you and we will.

What we collect

Roster signups. First name, email address, and ZIP code (optional). We use these to send the Sunday Dispatch and keep an honest live count of Roster members.

Post members. Everything in the Roster signup, plus billing information collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe holds the payment data, we hold the membership record.

Server logs. Standard request logs — IP address, user-agent, timestamp — collected by our hosting and CDN providers (Ghost and Cloudflare) for security and rate-limiting purposes. We don't use these for tracking or profiling.

What we don't collect

We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, third-party marketing trackers, or any other cross-site profiling tools. We do not use behavioral advertising. We do not buy or sell email lists, ever.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers we need to operate — currently Ghost (membership and email), Stripe (payment processing), and Cloudflare (DNS and CDN). We will update this list when it changes.

How long we keep it

Roster and Post member data is kept while you're an active member, plus 12 months after cancellation for accounting and dispute resolution. Server logs are retained per provider defaults (Ghost and Cloudflare, typically 30 days).

Your rights

You can request a copy of everything we have on you, request corrections, or request deletion at any time, by emailing cancelclankers@cancelclankers.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. Post members can also self-cancel from Settings → Billing.

Cookies

We use essential session cookies (login state, membership session) and nothing else. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies. There's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.

§02

Terms.

The short version

Be a decent human. Don't scrape, don't impersonate, don't harass. Post members can cancel anytime, no clawback. The brand marks belong to us; downloadable press assets can be used for editorial coverage. Nothing here is legal or financial advice.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape the site, mass-download our content, impersonate Cancel Clankers or its members, harass other Roster or Post members, or use the brand's voice or marks to push hate, violence, or anything that targets people for who they are. We reserve the right to revoke access — including paid Post membership, prorated — for any of the above.

Post membership

Billing. Post membership is $8 per month or $80 per year, billed in advance through Stripe. Prices may change with notice; existing members keep their current rate through the end of their billing cycle.

Cancellation. Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — no surprise charges, no clawback, no guilt-trip email.

Refunds. We don't issue refunds on renewed terms. If something has gone wrong, email us and we'll make it right within reason.

Brand marks & press assets

The X-mark, wordmark, round stamp, Vigilant Eagle, "Cancel Clankers" name, "Stay Human" tagline, and all associated brand visuals are owned by Cancel Clankers and not licensed for commercial use without written permission.

Editorial use of brand assets — for journalism, podcasts, books, academic work — is welcome and does not require permission, provided the marks are used as supplied (no recoloring, no cropping into circles, no compositing onto unrelated subjects). Brand kit assets are available at /press.

Content

Dispatch issues, manifesto text, and brand photography are © Cancel Clankers. Free issues may be quoted under fair use (excerpts, attribution, link back). Paid issues are for Post members and not for redistribution.

Disclaimers
