US passenger airline. As of 2026-05-18, the first major US carrier to issue an explicit policy banning human-like or animal-like robots from passenger cabins or as checked baggage. The policy change came two weeks after a Dallas business owner (Aaron Mehdizadeh of The Robot Studio) bought a humanoid robot named Stewie its own ticket on a 2026-05-07 Las Vegas → Dallas Love Field flight. Southwest's stated rationale is lithium-battery safety, not single-incident response.
