In Q1 2024 Klarna used tools like Midjourney, DALL-E and Firefly to generate around 1,000 images, cutting image-production costs by about $6 million and shrinking its image cycle from six weeks to seven days. It cut external supplier spend, including production and social agencies, by 25%. Separately, graphic-design job postings dropped roughly a third in 2025.

What the Machine Still Can't Do

A model can crank out a hundred banner variations. It can't decide which one is actually on-brand, fix the thing the client can't articulate, or stand behind the layout when it ships. Taste and accountability aren't a setting you can prompt for.
